4th Week: Software Design

    It is a Tuesday afternoon where everyone was catching their breaths as the elevator was out of service. Everyone used the stairs to get to our classroom which was the 7th floor of the CEA building. When our professor came everyone got inside to the classroom and the professor immediately checked the attendance. Everyone got scared when our professor told us that we will have a quiz. Everyone was not prepared so the professor continued his class.

        The class stared once again with the rebus puzzles the professor prepared. Everyone was very participative, including one of my classmate being able to answer most puzzle. After the rebus puzzle we immediately started our lesson about Software Design, Implementation, Integration, and Deployment.

    The topic about software design was that the objective and principles in designing a software. We also tackled about the two approaches of system design. But I think the most important part of the software design topic were the software design patterns as we were introduced to these patterns and how we can use it in designing our software.

    In the Software implementation what stayed on my mind was the Code review because it is a new knowledge for me that there is a proper way of code review and it is very important to do code review and also code refactoring. 

    In Software Integration, we really didn't have a deep discussion in it since most of our systems isn't deployed yet. But our professor gave us some example and some insights about it so that we can improve our system.

    In Software Development, it was the same the professor discussed the topic but there were not much interaction to it as our systems is not yet deployed. And our professor got tired of discussing in front so he ended up discussing the topic faster. 

    After We ended our discussion at 8pm our professor gave us an activity. Where we grouped ourselves to 4 and we were given a scenario where we are developing a system. Our topic is developing an e-learning system in which it can handle media presentations, tracks student progress, give assignments and project, let the instructors manage their course, and students can choose their course. My group and I discussed what are the answers of the given activity. With the help of my groupmates I managed to create a PowerPoint presentation to present our system. Gwen and others helped me in all the details I must put in the presentation and Jude managed to give me some insights. Meanwhile Lei and others we're creating the GUI. When it was time for presentation our group presented 3rd and I think we presented well our system and also did what needs to be done. Though I know our system has its own flaws and the other group managed to tell us one of those flaws in the debate session. And after the last group presented their system we we're dismissed by our professor after.

18th Week: PIT presentation

    First and foremost I want to thank our Professor sir Engr Carl Angelo Suasola for giving us the opportunity to learn and work under his guidance. He also gave everyone a Final exam exemption for both of his subjects which really helped everyone. We are all thankful and grateful for this opportunity and we will not forget this opportunity and his kindness.      Its been a long grueling week for each and everyone of us. Back to back exams and back to back PIT presentations. It was a hard fought battle to strive to be a Computer Engineer. Everyone strived and worked hard.      Though our group weren't able to present on Dec 21 we will be twice as prepared as we can possibly be and we will do our best for the next presentation on January and hope to pass the subject.

10th week: PIT PRESENTATION

      A tense Tuesday afternoon. We were the 2nd group to present our application. We have our problems when developing the app but we proceeded in presenting it. Mostly, my colleague presented the application since the application was in his phone. We started off our presentation with logging in and the error handlings in the logins and its database. We also showed our main features. But we do lack a lot. Like the admin, edit profile, and the change of name in the profile, can now post.     Friday where we represented our application. We improved our frontend and backend. We presented our lacking edit profile page and the change of name in the profile, and can already post. Though in our backend we ran into a problem when we were fixing our posting where when we try to post it wouldn't show in our front page even though we already called the tray where it holds all the posts. 9th week: Exams

      It was a very tiring afternoon as we took 2 subjects of exam that day. First was Machine Learning 11am-2pm then it was SDE 2pm-5pm. It was an exhausting afternoon. Taking the exam was a hard as the exam was hard. A lot of questions were in the Software Maintenance topic. I think i did decent in the exam after knowing i got 30/50 or 60/100. As I took the exam so exhausted and I even fell asleep taking it.      After a long 3days of exams we got back to work for our application. Chasing the 70% benchmark for our midterm PIT.
